Victor Lebediev – a former officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the rank of Major, a combat veteran of the 2015–2017 and 2022–2023 campaigns, and a veteran of the russo-ukrainian War. An ethnic Russian, he joined Ukraine’s Defense Forces to protect the Ukrainian people, the sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Victor is an ethnic Russian, originally from Central Asia, where he attended a sports boarding school and a construction college. He earned his first technical higher education in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and currently resides in Poltava. In 1986, he took part in liquidation efforts following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. He spent nearly 10 years working in Russia, including in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, before returning to Ukraine.

Following the occupation of Crimea and parts of Donbas, in February 2015, he volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a fire support company commander in a separate motorized infantry battalion, participating in numerous combat zones in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, defending Ukrainian territory from separatist forces. He suffered multiple concussions.

After being demobilized in 2017, he underwent seven months of medical treatment in a military hospital and was granted disabled veteran status due to injuries sustained in combat. He was promoted to the rank of Major before leaving the military. Immediately afterward, he became a volunteer and co-organizer of the Poltava War Veterans Association, which supports veterans in Poltava.

He also worked in the medical department of the Poltava Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise and as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Military Medicine at the Poltava Medical University. He obtained his second master’s degree in physical rehabilitation.

Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he re-enlisted as a senior officer psychologist in the headquarters of a motorized infantry brigade. He took part in combat operations to liberate areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

After being demobilized in 2023, he pursued further education, earning his third master’s degree in crisis psychology. Currently, he works at the Poltava City Clinical Hospital in the rehabilitation department, providing medical and psychological rehabilitation to wounded active-duty soldiers and veterans.

Additionally, he works at a medical prosthetics and orthopedic center, specializing in prosthetics and rehabilitation for military patients who have undergone lower limb amputations.
