With the russian invasion in its fourth year, the human and economic toll on the people of Ukraine remains profound. Families continue to endure unimaginable hardship, communities struggle under the strain of conflict, and the nation’s economy faces severe disruption. Yet, in the face of these challenges, Nova Ukraine has stood unwaveringly beside those in need — delivering lifesaving aid, sustaining critical relief programs on the ground, and amplifying Ukrainian voices here in the United States.
Nova Ukraine’s advocacy efforts have given Ukrainian Americans a powerful platform to share their experiences and needs directly with elected officials. By organizing meetings on Capitol Hill, facilitating conversations with elected officials and policymakers, Nova Ukraine has ensured that the critical needs of Ukraine — humanitarian relief, economic stabilization, and military assistance — remain at the forefront of U.S. foreign-policy discussions.
The Board of Directors has focused this quarter on strengthening our organizational foundation. We have:
- Defined our Four Pillars of Impact — Heal, Build, Empower, Advocate, — and worked to ensure that every program, from emergency medical aid to civil-society capacity building, neatly aligns with one pillar. This clarity enables us to allocate resources more effectively, measure outcomes more precisely, and communicate impact more transparently.
- Clarified our governance structure to foster robust oversight and streamlined decision-making. The Board of Directors is entrusted with setting Nova Ukraine’s strategic direction and recruiting exceptional executive leadership. We are supported by an Advisory Board of seasoned experts who counsel on policy, partnerships, and program design.
- Enhanced Supervisory Oversight, whereby key activities conducted in Ukraine are reviewed
and approved by the Supervisory Board to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and alignment
with our mission.
