Ukrainian forces have hit another key target that supplies Russia’s military with petroleum products, the Ukrainian General Staff said Friday.
According to the statement, a coordinated overnight strike targeted a pipeline line-production (pumping) station near the settlement of Naytopovichi in Russia’s Bryansk region. Rocket and artillery units and the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out the attack in coordination with Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The station pumps diesel through trunk product pipelines, including for the needs of Russian occupation forces, the General Staff said. The facility’s throughput is about 10.5 million tons a year. A fire was reported at the site, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
On Thursday, Ukraine struck two oil refineries in Russia — the Afipsky refinery in Krasnodar region and the Kuibyshev refinery in Samara region
In August, Russia suffered record refinery outages due to drone strikes coinciding with scheduled maintenance at these facilities.
