Explosions rocked an area near the city of Khabarovsk on Monday, July 8. Two explosive devices detonated around 9 a.m. in a parking lot near military unit No. 6912, leaving dead and wounded among Russian soldiers from the unit, a source in Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) told the outlet Ukrainska Pravda.

According to the source, after the blasts near the military facility, Russian security services shut down mobile internet and altered public transportation routes, steps he said were taken to prevent residents from learning details about the incident.

GUR says unit No. 6912 is home to the 748th Separate Operational Purpose Battalion of Russia’s National Guard (Rosgvardiya), whose fighters took part in combat against Ukraine and suffered losses in Bucha and Irpin in 2022.

In April 2022, Ukrainian intelligence published the names of Russian personnel accused of committing war crimes in Bucha, Kyiv region.
