Ukrainian drones hit Transneft's Vtorovo pumping station in Russia

Ukrainian drone units struck a site of Russia’s oil infrastructure overnight on September 7, targeting the Vtorovo oil pumping station owned by Transneft, according to Robert Brovdi, the Ukrainian commander known by the call sign “Magyar.”

The strategic facility lies near the settlement of Penkino in the Vladimir region and was used to move diesel through the Moscow Ring oil products pipeline.

Brovdi said the attack caused significant damage, disrupting equipment that feeds fuel into the system. Russian outlets have downplayed the extent of the damage, but reports of fuel supply interruptions have emerged.

Kyiv has increasingly used long-range drones to hit targets far from the front lines. A strike on the Vtorovo station could complicate fuel supplies in Russia’s central regions, including Moscow, amid ongoing reports of tight fuel availability on the domestic market.

Ukrainian officials argue such attacks degrade both Russia’s economy and its military logistics, with strikes on refineries and pumping stations directly affecting fuel supplies to units at the front.
