Ukraine pushes back Russian forces in the Sumy region while Russia advances near Kupyansk

Ukraine’s Armed Forces on the Sumy axis pushed Russian troops back near the border villages of Kostiantynivka and Novokostiantynivka (formerly Pervoye Maya) in the Khotyn settlement community, according to the DeepState project.

At the same time, Russian forces captured the village of Temyrivka in the Hulyaipole urban community of Zaporizhzhia region and advanced inside the city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region and near Novoivanivka.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Russian offensive operation in Sumy region has been completely thwarted.

A day earlier, Andriy Kanashkevych, head of the Kupyansk City Military Administration, said there were no Russian troops in Kupyansk and that fighting was continuing on the city’s outskirts. Ukraine’s General Staff said Russian forces are trying to build up their troops in the area.
