Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces and the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) carried out a combined strike on railway infrastructure inside Russia, a GUR source told Ukrinform.
The source said Russian Railways workers yesterday discovered mines on the Maloarkhangelsk–Glazunovka line. An engineering unit from Russia’s National Guard arrived, and an explosion occurred during demining, killing two Rosgvardiya officers and severing both legs of another.
More than 15 trains have been delayed on that stretch since the blast. Oryol region Governor Andrey Klychkov confirmed an explosion on the Maloarkhangelsk–Glazunovka segment.
Separately, explosions also rocked the Stroganovo–Mshinskaya line overnight. Media reported a disruption of the St. Petersburg–Pskov rail connection. On that section, a locomotive derailed and 15 fuel tank cars were destroyed.
According to the GUR source, the affected rail lines are critical logistics links for supplying Russian forces in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The attacks are expected to complicate the occupiers’ logistics.
Ukrainian partisans also set fire to a relay cabinet on a railway in Russia’s Adyz-Khabl district today.
