Ukrainian units on the Dobropillya axis have expanded territory under their control and destroyed Russian personnel and equipment, according to the military. Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine says its forces took new ground and struck Russian troops on several fronts.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukraine regained control of 1.3 square kilometers in the last day and carried out search-and-destroy operations across 2.1 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.ย In some areas, assault units advanced between 200 meters and 2.5 kilometers.
As a result of the fighting, 43 Russian troops were killed, and total Russian losses for the day amounted to 65 personnel, Ukraine said. Ukrainian forces destroyed 11 pieces of equipment, including four artillery systems, six drones and one motorcycle.
As of September 22, 2025, Ukrainian troops have liberated 164.5 square kilometers and cleared 180.8 square kilometers of Russian sabotage-and-reconnaissance groups. Control has been restored over seven settlements, and nine have been fully cleared of DRGs, according to the military.
Cumulative Russian losses on the Dobropillya axis stand at 2,696 personnel, including 1,492 killed, Ukraine said. Work continues to replenish the โexchange fundโ to bring Ukrainian defenders home from captivity.
Russia has also lost 856 pieces of weapons and equipment on this axis, Ukraine said: 12 tanks, 38 armored combat vehicles, 175 artillery systems, five multiple launch rocket systems, 441 vehicles, 58 motorcycles and quad bikes, one piece of special equipment and 173 drones.

Ukraineโs General Staff said Russian forces carried out active assault operations in these areas. On the Novopavlivka axis, Russia launched 20 attacks around Filiyal, Zelenyi Hai, Poddubne, Maliivka, Sechnove, Kamyshevaha, Vorone, Novonikolaivka and Zaporizke. Ukrainian defenders repelled the assaults and inflicted significant losses in manpower and equipment, the General Staff said.
On other fronts, Russia also tried to advance: on the Lyman axis - 21 attacks near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodyazi, Torske and Novoselivka; on the Pokrovsk axis - 49 assault actions around Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Krasnyi Lyman, Luch, Chunyshyne, Zveryne, Udachne, Kotlyne and Dachne.
Overall in the past day, Ukrainian forces repelled numerous attacks, destroying a tank, an armored fighting vehicle, 47 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system, three helicopters, 403 unmanned aerial vehicles and 118 vehicles, according to the General Staff. Russian personnel losses totaled about 960, it said.
Earlier, Syrskyi said Ukrainian troops on the Dobropillya axis had breached Russian defenses by 3 to 7 kilometers. Control has already been restored in seven settlements, and nine areas have been fully cleared of Russian diversion and reconnaissance groups.
