Ukraine’s Armed Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine struck Russian ammunition depots stocked with drones and shells in Luhansk and Donetsk, disrupting the Russia’s plans, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to repel Russia’s aggression, systematically hitting ammunition warehouses - including those holding strike UAVs - intended to supply Russian troops in the East. The strikes deprive Russia’s military of critical resources and degrade its ability to conduct offensive operations, Dialog.UA reported.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces had planned to deliver various types of ammunition to the 17th Tank Regiment of the 70th Motorized Rifle Division near the Russian-occupied village of Bohdanivka in Luhansk region. In addition, the Russians intended to distribute more than 19,000 drones of various models to units in Donetsk region.
Trucks that brought the weapons to a field depot carried tens of thousands of mines, grenades and cartridges, along with thousands of tank rounds — including high-precision ZUBK-14 - and artillery shells. A second depot held a mix of UAVs - “Molniya,” “Boomerang,” “Vandal Novgorodsky,” “Gorynych” - and other equipment, including batteries, communications modules and video transmitters.
In an initial strike on August 29, 2025, the Operational-Strategic Group “Dnipro” (OSUV “Dnipro”) hit a drone distribution logistics hub, destroying large stocks of Russian strike UAVs. On September 18, 2025, a joint operation by Ukraine’s Armed Forces and the SBU destroyed a Russian army regimental ammunition depot in Luhansk region, including Russian vehicles.
Effective coordination between intelligence and strike units is improving operational results and inflicting significant damage on the Russian supply lines.
Each successful operation strengthens Ukraine’s defenses and shows that the aggressor’s plans to supply troops and strike systems are regularly being disrupted. Further AFU and SBU actions are ongoing.
