Ukraine’s armed forces say they attacked a facility in the town of Karachev in the Bryansk region that produces components for the defense industry.

On Monday, September 29, four missiles hit the Elektrodetal plant in Karachev, triggering explosions and a fire on the site, Ukraine’s General Staff said on Telegram.

The military said it is assessing the results of the strike on the plant, which manufactures electrical connectors for military and other industrial uses, including low-frequency, high-frequency and combined connectors.

“The products are used in aerospace, electronics, instrument-making and other sectors. These include connectors for printed circuit boards, military equipment, aircraft, antennas, base stations and other systems, as well as components for various measuring instruments,” the General Staff added.

Ukraine’s navy said Neptune missiles were used in the strike. The General Staff added the missiles flew 240 kilometers. Ukraine’s Neptune anti-ship missiles, with a range of nearly 300 kilometers and capable of hitting land targets, have been used multiple times to strike inside Russia, including targets in the Kursk and Rostov regions.

Earlier, Telegram channels citing local residents reported strikes on the Karachev facility. The Dnipro Osint channel said a fire broke out in the plant’s workshops after the strike.

Bryansk region Governor Alexander Bogomaz did not report an attack, saying only there was a missile threat in the Karachev district and that 24 fixed-wing drones were destroyed over the region.
