Russia’s forces are trying to entrench along the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region, but Ukrainian troops are preventing that.

Soldiers of Ukraine’s 225th Separate Assault Regiment cleared three villages in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Russian forces, while the 141st Separate Mechanized Brigade cleared another, according to the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState on its Telegram channel.

DeepState said Ukrainian forces recently cleared Sosnivka, Khoroshe, Novoselivka and Sichneve. Stabilization operations are ongoing there.

Russian forces are again attempting to seize Novoselivka and Sichneve, and fighting continues in both settlements. Ukrainian defenders are preventing the Russians from consolidating. Complicating matters, on the southern flank the Ukrainian Forces were forced to withdraw under pressure from Russian troops.

The settlements cleared by Ukrainian troops in Dnipropetrovsk region are part of the Novopavlivka sector, one of the hottest areas of the front. Russian army is trying to secure positions along the administrative border with Dnipropetrovsk region, but Ukrainian forces are not allowing it.

For example, this week a Russian sabotage-and-reconnaissance group tried to infiltrate the village of Verbove. The Russians intended to film themselves hoisting a flag. Ukrainian troops eliminated the unit, with only one fighter managing to escape. Verbove is in the area of responsibility of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Russian forces quickly claimed to have captured the village, but the brigade’s command denied that as false.
