Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service says it has obtained information indicating that China is providing satellite data to Russia’s military command, enabling further strikes on Ukrainian cities.
Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service representative Oleh Aleksandrov told Ukrinform that this poses a serious threat, alleging that Beijing is supplying satellite intelligence used for missile attacks across Ukraine.
According to Aleksandrov, this is not merely a technical exchange but evidence of high-level coordination between Moscow and Beijing in satellite reconnaissance. He said Russian forces are using Chinese data to identify and further reconnoiter strategic targets before striking them. The strikes, he added, have hit not only Ukrainian sites but also companies with foreign investment—posing risks beyond Ukraine’s borders.
Aleksandrov noted that in recent months there have been instances of missiles hitting facilities linked to international business, underscoring that Russia’s war against Ukraine reaches beyond a regional conflict and directly affects the interests of foreign companies.
Ukrainian intelligence has not disclosed further details, but Kyiv says China’s involvement is cause for concern. While Beijing publicly maintains neutrality and speaks of a “peaceful settlement,” providing intelligence to Russia would effectively make China a party to the war, Ukraine argues.
