Putin warns U.S.-Russia ties could be destroyed if Trump sends Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine

Russian president Vladimir Putin commented on the possible delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Speaking to Russian state media correspondent Pavel Zarubin, he said such a move could destroy U.S.-Russia relations.

β€œYou were talking about the President of the United States, but there were questions related, say, to discussions about supplying new weapons systems, including long-range, high-precision Tomahawk systems, and so on. I have already said that this will lead to the destruction of our relations β€” at the very least, of the positive trends that had begun to emerge in those relations,” the Russian president said.

According to him, how the situation develops β€œdoes not depend only on us and not only on me.”

Earlier, media reported that the Trump administration believes that providing Kyiv with long-range Tomahawk missiles may be unrealistic, since existing stocks are earmarked for the U.S. Navy and other needs. Senior U.S. officials recently confirmed the White House is considering supplying the missiles. It was also reported that the U.S. would provide Ukraine with intelligence on targets within Russia’s energy infrastructure at long range.
