ATESH partisans disrupt Russian communications and command systems near Bryansk

Members of the ATESH movement carried out a successful operation in Russia’s Bryansk region, disabling a key communications hub used by Russian forces.

The Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar movement ATESH announced a new operation against Russian forces. Overnight on October 19, its agents conducted sabotage at a strategic communications site in the Bryansk region, roughly 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Footage was posted on ATESH’s Telegram channel.

During the operation, a node that coordinated units of the Russian Armed Forces operating in the border zone was destroyed, the group said. A tower transmitting control signals between Russian troops and border guards was knocked out of service.

Targets included structures responsible for security and logistics in the region, according to ATESH. Among them were units of the Border Service, the 84th engineer and airfield battalion, and a National Guard (Rosgvardiya) regiment. These elements were tasked with guarding the border, maintaining infrastructure, and supplying Russian formations in the area.

ATESH said the loss of the communications hub caused a complete breakdown in command systems. Communications between units reportedly collapsed, leading to confusion and a temporary loss of control over the border district. Russian forces were unable to respond quickly and lost coordination, the group claimed.

ATESH cast the operation as further evidence that Russia is vulnerable even far from the front lines, saying Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar agents continue systematically degrading military infrastructure and undermining Moscow’s defensive capabilities.
