Russia pounds Donbas with 19 strikes, 11 guided bombs hit Kostiantynivka, killing two

Russian forces struck settlements across Ukraine’s Donetsk region 19 times in the past 24 hours, killing two civilians, wounding two others and damaging dozens of homes.

Overnight and into the morning of October 22, Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Dobropillya and Lyman came under heavy fire. Two civilians were killed and two more were wounded.

According to the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Russian forces used air-dropped bombs, artillery and strike drones in 19 attacks over the past day. Authorities recorded damage to 26 civilian sites, including 20 residential homes.

The most destructive strike hit Kostiantynivka, where Russian forces dropped 11 UAB-250 guided bombs and shelled the city with drones and artillery. Two civilians were killed and two were wounded. Four apartment buildings and 11 private homes, a dormitory, a hospital, a gas station and a civilian vehicle were damaged.

In Druzhkivka, Geran-2 drones damaged two private homes and a garage.

In Dobropillya, two residential buildings were destroyed; in Lyman, an apartment block and an administrative facility were hit. Damage was also reported in Sviatohirsk and Kramatorsk.

In Siversk, in the Bakhmut district, eight houses were destroyed.

In the past day, 145 people, including 32 children, were evacuated from front-line areas.

Russian attacks continue daily, turning cities across Donbas into ruins and depriving residents of their homes.
