Ukrainian drones attacked sites in Russia’s Dagestan and Mordovia regions on Wednesday morning, October 22.
In Makhachkala, a strike hit the Dagnotech LLC oil refinery, which has an annual capacity of one million tons, according to Astra Telegram channel. Regional leader Sergei Melikov confirmed the attack, saying there were “no casualties and no damage.”
Explosions were also reported in the city of Saransk (Mordovia). Drones targeted the Saransk Mechanical Plant, part of the state-owned Rostec defense conglomerate that produces mines, grenades, engineering munitions and other military-grade equipment.
Meanwhile, the death toll from an overnight strike on Kyiv rose to three, with more than 20 injured. In total, 10 regions of Ukraine came under attack overnight: Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy and Sumy. Six people were killed overall, including two children.
“Another night proving that Russia is not under enough pressure for dragging out the war,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
