Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced an uptick in production of interceptor drones designed to defend against Russian UAVs.
By the end of November, Ukraine will be able to produce 600–800 interceptor drones per day, he told reporters, according to Ukrinform
“I said that in the fall up to a thousand interceptors would be produced per day. And they will be produced per day. It’s certainly not an easy task. We believe that by the end of November, 600–800 interceptor drones will be produced daily,” Zelensky said.
He noted the plan depends in part on ongoing Russian strikes, adding that the attacks target more than Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. “Sometimes [strikes hit] not only the energy sector, you should also know this,” the president said.
Earlier, the NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre and NATO Allied Command Transformation tested a new technology to intercept KABs (gliding bombs).
F Ukraine and the United Kingdom will reportedly begin joint production of interceptor drones to counter Russian Shaheds under the Octopus project.
