Ukraine: Russian forces gradually losing control of Kupyansk amid logistics strain

Russian forces in Kupyansk, in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, are gradually losing control of the city, Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces grouping, said on the “We-Ukraine”

According to him, the situation concerns the city’s northern districts, where Russian infantry groups had moved in and tried to dig in.

“However, there are fewer of them there now as a result of effective counteractions,” Tregubov said.

He noted that the situation in the city is difficult for both Russian and Ukrainian forces, as logistics toward Kupyansk have been significantly hampered.

“Ukrainian forces have better-established logistics; there are fewer Russians left in the city, and the situation is in some ways more difficult for them,” the spokesman added.

For the occupying forces, Kupyansk holds particular importance because the city provides access to other towns and villages in the region. /war/voennyj-objasnil-pochemu-kupjansk-imeet-stratehicheskoe-znachenie-dlja-rf.html

Earlier, DeepState analysts said the coming weeks will be decisive for the fate of Kupyansk.
