Up to 50 Russian soldiers are in Kupyansk and cut off, Ukrainian military says

Up to 50 Russian soldiers are currently in Kupyansk in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. The city has become logistically isolated for Russian forces, said Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces grouping, speaking on Kyiv24.

He added that Ukrainian logistics are also being targeted by Russian strikes.

“Those groups of occupiers that entered Kupyansk can receive supplies (water, food, ammunition) via drone drops. The occupiers are trying to advance from the northern side, but this is extremely ineffective,” Tregubov said.

According to him, Russian forces in Kupyansk are in a worse position than Ukrainian troops. “Russian forces ended up in a city they cannot leave and where it is difficult for them to get any supplies,” he added.

Tregubov also said Russian forces are not using armored vehicles in this sector. At the same time, both sides are actively employing reconnaissance and strike drones.

Kupyansk holds particular importance for Russian forces because it offers a route to other towns and villages in the region. Earlier, analysts at DeepState said the coming weeks would be decisive for the city’s fate.
