Overnight into November 22, drones targeted military and strategic facilities in Crimea, according to Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels.
Residents in Russian-occupied Crimea reported hearing explosions in Simferopol, Armyansk, Hvardiiske and Krasnoperekopsk, the channels said. Preliminary information suggests a drone strike hit a 220 kV electrical substation in Krasnoperekopsk - a key node that receives and distributes power across the peninsula.
In Krasnoperekopsk, one local enterprise with strategic value to Russian forces may also have been hit, according to those reports. Details are being clarified.
The Russian-installed administration in Crimea has remained silent about the overnight drone attacks on strategic facilities. Russian authorities have not commented either.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been striking military and strategic sites in Crimea almost daily. On November 21, drones targeted the Saky military airfield in Novofedorivka, home to Russia’s 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment, which supports Russian troops in southern Ukraine and flies Su-24 frontline bombers and Su-30 fighters. Explosions were also heard near the Saky thermal power plant, whose turbine hall had previously sustained significant damage.
