In Pokrovsk, Russian units are sustaining significant losses and urgently replenishing personnel from reserves. Ukrainian defenders, meanwhile, are holding key positions and preventing Russia from expanding control inside the city.
The 7th Corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces said on its Telegram channel that, as of November 21, Ukrainian troops control the northern lines of Pokrovsk as well as strategic positions south of the railway — a development it called important for the city’s further de-occupation.
Russian forces are trying to cross the rail line to widen the occupied area, but those attempts are being blocked by Ukrainian defenders, the corps said. Due to heavy personnel losses, Russian command has committed operational reserves - including elements of the 76th Air Assault Division - to reinforce its troops in the area.
To counter Russia and conduct clearing operations, Ukraine is building up its grouping, increasing the number of drone crews and stepping up tactical and army aviation. A key task remains fully cutting Russian supply and logistics routes in the city.
On the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad, clearing operations against remaining Russian infantry continue, while movements of additional Russian forces in southern Pokrovsk are being actively tracked and targeted.
Small Russian groups also tried to infiltrate Hryshyne northwest of the city, but Ukrainian troops quickly neutralized the threat and prevented them from entrenching on new positions.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, as of the morning of November 21 there were 59 combat engagements in the Pokrovsk sector near the settlements of Volodymirivka, Nikanorivka, Rodinske Krasny Liman, Novoeconomicheske, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Udachne, Molodetske, Novosergiivka, Filyal, Dachne, and toward Novopavlivka.
