Russia commits reserves at Pokrovsk as Ukraine stabilizes the front and secures Myrnohrad logistics

The situation around Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad remains extremely difficult, but Ukraine’s Defense Forces say they are not only holding the line, they are inflicting massive losses on Russian troops.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces report that Russia is taking such heavy losses near Pokrovsk that it has been forced to commit reserve units to the assault. Despite the pressure, Ukrainian defenders say they are holding positions and maintaining defenses in nearby Myrnohrad, where secured logistics corridors have been set up.

According to the Eastern Group of Forces, heavy fighting continues in Pokrovsk. Russian units are trying to infiltrate small groups into central districts of the city to generate imagery for propaganda, the military says. Another axis of pressure is the southern part of Pokrovsk, where Russian forces are attempting to leverage weather conditions; however, they have been unable to advance north.

Ukraine’s military leadership notes that Russia had planned to fully capture Pokrovsk by September. It’s now late November and the fighting continues, with Russian losses described as “enormous,” prompting the Kremlin to bring in additional reserves.

At the same time, Russia is trying to cut the logistics link between Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Russian forces are pushing to enter Myrnohrad, but Ukrainian troops say they disrupted those plans, destroying personnel and equipment.

To keep supply routes open, Ukrainian engineering units have created protected corridors using netting and reinforced roads to move equipment almost to the front line. The same corridors are used to evacuate the wounded.

Where ground routes are at risk, the Ukrainian army is deploying heavy drones and robotic systems to deliver ammunition and equipment and to help evacuate wounded soldiers.

Ukraine’s military stresses there is no threat of encirclement of its units. Logistics are complicated but fully functional. Claims amplified by Russian propaganda that Ukrainian defenders in Myrnohrad could be surrounded “any day now” are described by the military as manipulative; a multi-kilometer gray zone still separates the sides.
