Ukrainian airstrike hits Lukoil’s Bobrov oil depot near Voronezh

Ukraine’s military is continuing a campaign of strikes against Russia’s oil infrastructure, aiming to hinder the sector’s recovery and disrupt supplies to the Russian military.

On December 4, it became clear which facility in the Voronezh region was targeted a day earlier. The airstrike hit the Bobrov oil depot at 7 Zheleznodorozhnaya Street in the village of Khrenovoe, Voronezh region. Two storage tanks were damaged, one filled with fuel and the other empty, reported the Telegram channel ASTRA, citing its sources.

The news outlet noted that on December 3, Voronezh region Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed damage to fuel tanks. Gusev said air defenses shot down four drones and that sites in Khrenovoe were damaged by falling debris. The outlet also questioned his assertion that there were no fires at the depot, saying one of the drones struck a tank containing petroleum products.

The Bobrov Lukoil depot functions as a sorting and storage hub supplied by road and rail. From there, fuel is distributed to gas stations, logistics companies and other customers.
