Ukrainian drones strike Engels, local oil depot reportedly on fire

Overnight on December 7, attack drones targeted the Russian city of Engels in Saratov Oblast, home to one of the airfields from which Russian fighters and bombers launch missile strikes on Ukraine.

Local residents say the UAVs hit a nearby oil depot, according to the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

“Engels, Saratov Oblast, local residents report an oil depot is on fire,” the caption reads under a video that appears to show the moment of the drone strike.

Earlier, Saratov Oblast Governor Roman Busargin had warned of a drone threat to the region.

“In areas facing a potential threat, warning systems may be activated. All emergency services have been placed on full alert,” Busargin wrote.

After the drones struck Engels, Busargin did not issue any new statements.

As of publication, Ukrainian officials had not commented on the drone attacks in Saratov Oblast.

On the night of December 6, drones attacked the Ryazan oil refinery.

On December 5, drones targeted a seaport in Russia’s Krasnodar region.
