Ukrainian drones destroy 70% of Temryuk port fuel tanks in strike on key Russian supply hub

A Ukrainian drone strike on the Temryuk seaport in Russia’s Krasnodar region has destroyed most of the facility’s fuel infrastructure.

Ukraine’s General Staff released updated figures for the operation carried out on December 5, targeting the Temryuk seaport, which Russia has actively used to supply its forces.

According to the new information, strike UAVs destroyed 20 fuel storage tanks - around 70% of the total. The loss significantly limits Russia’s ability to transport and stockpile fuel.

Beyond the destroyed tanks, a fire continues to burn at the loading rack, where roughly two dozen rail cars carrying liquefied gas were located. As of the evening of December 7, the blaze had spread to nearly 1,000 square meters.

Ukrainian forces say operations of this kind are intended to systematically degrade Russia’s military logistics and undermine its capacity to continue the war against Ukraine.

The Temryuk seaport sits on the Sea of Azov in the Krasnodar region. It is one of Russia’s key transshipment points for petroleum products, liquefied gas and other cargo used to supply its forces. Its proximity to occupied territories makes it a crucial node in Russia’s logistics, enabling the movement of fuel and materiel to the southern front.
