Russian army is stepping up pressure on Mirnohrad in the Donetsk region, a key objective for its advance in this sector, the press service of the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces said.
“To achieve its goal, the enemy has concentrated around ten units near Mirnohrad. To hold them back, the city’s defenses have been reinforced with additional forces and assets,” the statement said.
Logistics “corridors” to the western part of Mirnohrad have been strengthened with new units, allowing supply efforts along this axis to continue.
Since early December, marines and paratroopers have “eliminated and put out of action” 207 Russian troops in the Mirnohrad area, the military added. Defense Forces also destroyed and damaged 1 tank, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 1 gun, 1 Grad multiple rocket launcher, 6 vehicles and 34 UAVs of various types.
Earlier, we reported that in Mirnohrad, Ukraine’s Defense Forces were targeting Russian troops on the approaches to the city.
