Ukrainian Forces struck positions used by Russian drone operators in Siversk and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, the Eastern Group of Forces said on December 24.
According to the statement, 1,217 drones of various types and 105 other pieces of weaponry and equipment - including one tank - were destroyed. Ukrainian forces also hit 28 Russian unmanned aviation crews over the past day. Rocket Forces and Artillery units carried out 836 fire missions.
The Air Force targeted a building in the Siversk area used by Russian drone operators and struck two buildings in Pokrovsk housing Russian UAV pilots. Army aviation hit a concentration of Russian personnel near Kotlyarivka and Hryhorivka, the Eastern Group added.
In the Eastern Group’s area of responsibility, Ukrainian forces are holding back Russian advances and repelled 52 assaults in the past 24 hours. Ukrainian units continue active operations around the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration.
On the Pokrovsk axis, the Ukrainian Forces stopped 34 Russian assault attempts near Nikonorivka, Rodynske, Krasnyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoserhiivka, Orekhove and Dachne.
In that sector, Ukrainian troops eliminated 62 Russian soldiers and wounded 24, destroyed 18 drones, three vehicles and two artillery systems, and struck a tank, four additional vehicles, one artillery system and 11 personnel shelters.
The defense of Pokrovsk is ongoing, with Ukrainian forces controlling the northern part of the city. Search-and-assault operations and clearance of Russian units in urban areas continue. In Myrnohrad, Ukrainian units are holding defensive lines and targeting Russian forces on the approaches to the city. Additional logistics routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are being organized to ensure uninterrupted supply and timely evacuation.
Overall, in the Eastern Group’s area, Russian forces suffered the heaviest daily losses—408 personnel in the past 24 hours.
More broadly, Ukraine reported 126 combat engagements along the front in the past day, with the highest number – 34 - on the Pokrovsk axis.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces say they neutralized 1,090 Russian troops over the past day, and claim total Russian personnel losses in the war have surpassed 1.2 million.
