Unmanned aerial vehicles attacked an oil refinery and the port in Tuapse, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters said. Two people were wounded; one of the port’s berths and equipment at the refinery were damaged, along with five residential buildings (four apartment blocks and one private house).
The UAV attack sparked fires on the berth and on the refinery grounds. Officials said the blaze at the plant covered about 300 square meters.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery forms a single production complex with the company’s marine terminal, RN-Tuapse Marine Terminal LLC, and is part of the oil company Rosneft.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, overnight on December 31, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 86 Ukrainian drones, including 56 over the Black Sea, as well as over the Bryansk (9) and Lipetsk (8) regions, Krasnodar Krai (5), and annexed Crimea (8).
