Russian troops are carrying out continuous infantry attacks, combined assaults with armor, and are constantly using drones for reconnaissance and fire adjustment.
Russian forces continue to apply heavy pressure in the Pokrovsk direction, but there is no breakthrough. The line of contact remains unchanged, said Artem Prybylnov, an officer with the communications unit of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv, on Suspilne.
“In the first days of the new year, the situation in the Pokrovsk sector remains tense but largely controlled. The fighting hasn’t stopped for a single day. The enemy continues to push, but there are no drastic changes on the line of contact,” Prybylnov said.
He emphasized that Russian forces have not achieved significant gains and have not breached the defenses. The Russians are relying on sustained pressure and constant assaults as its main tactic, trying to compensate for limited maneuverability and lack of results by increasing the intensity of attacks.
Despite the absence of a breakthrough, Russian units are continuing nonstop infantry assaults and, in some areas, combined attacks with armor, while constantly employing drones for reconnaissance and to adjust artillery fire.
“These are not signs of strength, but rather attempts to wear down our defenses. Their current tactical goals are to pressure the flanks and complicate logistics. This isn’t about a quick capture; it’s the gradual imposition of a war of attrition,” Prybylnov concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces are trying to advance with the help of aviation near Hulyaipole, as well as near Dobropillya and Zelenyi in the Hulyaipole sector of the front.
