Ukraine’s Defense Forces say they control Rodynske and that Russian troops have not taken Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad or Hulyaipole, with heavy fighting ongoing, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said y on Telegram.
“The Defense Forces control Rodynske. I’ll also add that the enemy has not taken Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad or Hulyaipole. Heavy fighting continues,” Kovalenko wrote.
The Azov 1st Corps of Ukraine’s National Guard said Ukrainian forces continue to hold Rodynske in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, despite what it called Russian propaganda.
Separately, Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for Ukraine’s Joint Forces, said Russia is continuing attempts to infiltrate Lyman while trying to bypass Ukrainian positions around the city. Both sides are facing major challenges, he added, citing a wide “gray zone” and extensive drone use.
Ukraine’s Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck four areas of Russian personnel concentration and two other key targets, according to the Defense Forces.
The General Staff said Ukrainian forces eliminated 750 Russian troops over the past day. It added that Russia has lost 1,210,630 military personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion.
