Fire breaks out at a fuel depot in Lipetsk as mass drone attacks hit Russia, four injured

A fuel depot in the Lipetsk region caught fire overnight on January 6 following a strike by Ukrainian attack drones.

According to the outlet Astra and the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, the Usman fuel depot in the village of Streletskie Khutora was hit.

Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov also reported a fire at an industrial facility in the Usman district, without providing specific details.

“According to preliminary information, there are no dead or injured. Emergency services are working at the scene,” he said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claims that 129 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed over Russian territory overnight on January 6.

The ministry said most of the attacks targeted the Bryansk, Belgorod and Yaroslavl regions.

Local authorities in the Bryansk region said two vehicles were struck by a drone in the village of Podlesnye Novoselki, injuring two drivers from the Miratorg company.

In the Voronezh region, a drone fell onto railway tracks, causing temporary train delays.

In Tver, a fragment of a drone hit a high-rise building, according to acting Tver region governor Vitaly Korolev. He said two injured people were hospitalized.

Astra also reported that residents reported explosions in Sterlitamak (where a chemical plant was allegedly hit), Yaroslavl, Penza (where a transport company’s premises were targeted) and the Leningrad region.
