Ukraine confirms strikes on Belgorod oil depot and Donetsk logistics hub

Ukraine’s military says it struck an oil depot in Russia’s Belgorod region, where a large fire broke out, as well as a logistics warehouse in Donetsk region.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to systematically degrade the offensive capabilities of Russia’s military, hitting enemy fuel and supply infrastructure, the General Staff said.

Overnight on January 7, Ukrainian units struck the Oskolneftesnab oil depot near the settlement of Kotel in Russia’s Belgorod region. The strategic facility was used to supply Russian forces with fuel. A large fire erupted after tanks at the site were hit.

To disrupt Russian logistics, a logistics and materiel warehouse serving Russia’s 20th Motor Rifle Division was also struck in Russian-occupied territory of Donetsk region. The exact scope of damage is being assessed.

Following earlier attacks, two RVS-5000 vertical storage tanks were found damaged at the Temp strategic reserve oil depot in Russia’s Yaroslavl region.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces say they are carrying out systematic actions to weaken the offensive and military‑economic potential of Russian occupying forces in an effort to compel Moscow to end its armed aggression against Ukraine.
