Ukrainian forces eliminate Russian troops hiding in farm septic pits near Myrnohrad

Near Myrnohrad, Ukrainian service members discovered Russian troops hiding in a shelter on the grounds of a farm. Soldiers from the 79th Air Assault Brigade located and eliminated the group, the press service of the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces said.

“The invaders tried to use this location to amass forces, cut our logistics and carry out sabotage behind the lines of the Defense Forces,” the statement said.

According to the statement, several groups of Russian troops had, over an extended period and at intervals, used the site’s engineering communications - sewage pits - for concealment. After the hideout inside the farm facility was found, units of the 79th Separate Tavria Air Assault Brigade eliminated the Russians.

As for the city itself, Ukrainian forces are holding Myrnohrad, but the situation remains difficult. The Russian military has concentrated more than 10 units in the area.

“Russians continue to build up forces on the southern and northeastern outskirts of the city. Since the start of the year, the enemy has reduced open (demonstrative) assault actions and increased efforts to infiltrate the central part of the settlement,” the Brigade added.

Search-and-strike operations by Ukraine’s Defense Forces are ongoing in Myrnohrad and on the approaches to the city to prevent further Russian advances.

The situation in the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration remains the most difficult, with around 50 combat clashes occurring daily.
