Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck three Lukoil drilling platforms in the Caspian Sea, a Buk-M3 air defense launcher in the Luhansk region, and a warehouse used by Russia’s 49th Army in the Kherson region, the General Staff’s press service said Sunday, January 11.
As part of efforts to reduce Russia’s warfighting and economic potential, Ukraine’s Defense Forces targeted three Lukoil offshore installations in the Caspian: the V. Filanovsky, Yuri Korchagin and Valery Grayfer platforms.
These facilities are used to support Russia’s occupation forces, the statement said. Hits were recorded; the extent of the damage is being assessed.
Separately, the Defense Forces conducted a strike on a Buk-M3 medium-range air defense launcher near the settlement of Baranichevo (Russian-occupied Luhansk region). The General Staff said the system is designed to counter aerodynamic targets. Preliminary reports indicated hits and subsequent explosions.
To further degrade Russian logistics and combat capabilities, Ukrainian forces also struck a logistics unit warehouse belonging to Russia’s 49th Army near the settlement of Novotroitske (Russian-occupied Kherson region).
Earlier, Ukraine’s Forces said they hit storage and service sites for unmanned boats near Myrne in Russian-occupied Crimea.
On the night before December 11, drones attacked the Russian city of Veliky Novgorod, striking the Acron chemical plant and igniting a fire on the premises.
A fire was also reported at a defense plant in the Russian city of Orsk.
