Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (GUR) has published data on 50 pieces of foreign equipment used by Russia’s defense industry to manufacture weapons and military hardware.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine unveiled new evidence of Russia’s use of foreign technologies in its military-industrial complex. In the “Tools of War” section of the War&Sanctions portal, officials posted details on roughly 50 foreign machines involved in producing weapons for Russia’s armed forces.
GUR at Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said Russian defense enterprises continue to actively rely on foreign technological equipment despite sanctions.
Among the equipment identified:
- Waterjet cutting systems from Czech manufacturer PTV, used in the production of shipborne and coastal radar stations, as well as equipment for Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces and security systems at military facilities;
- A JVM-360LS CNC milling machine from U.S. company JET Tools, used to make components for Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- A TAYU TY-200S injection molding machine from China, operated by Russian enterprises that produce guidance systems, sights, and round-the-clock reconnaissance complexes.
Intelligence officials note that Russian defense firms often turn to leasing arrangements instead of direct purchases to obtain foreign equipment. Such practices help conceal end users and circumvent sanctions.
GUR is calling on global manufacturers to implement continuous tracking of the movement and use of their equipment to prevent its use in warfare and destabilizing activities.
As of today, the “Tools of War” section of the War&Sanctions portal lists 1,454 pieces of foreign equipment used by 181 enterprises in Russia’s defense industry.
The work to identify Russia’s tools of war is ongoing.
