On January 16, 2026, Lithuanian military intelligence announced charges against a multinational gang from Spain, Colombia, Chile, Russia, and Belarus for orchestrating sabotage attacks targeting radio jamming stations in Ukraine and infrastructure in Romania, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The group, allegedly backed by Russia, conducted sabotage over up to 10 years, including targeting construction warehouses and power infrastructure in Romania and Poland. Lithuania issued international arrest warrants and reports suggest that over 5,000 to 10,000 euros were paid per sabotage action. Lithuania also accused Russia of an attempted sabotage attack on an IKEA store in 2025. Polish prosecutors have not charged any suspects, while Moscow denied involvement. This reflects ongoing covert Russian-directed hybrid warfare tactics in the region.
