Adam Kadyrov, the son of Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov, was reportedly involved in a serious car accident in Grozny. Parts of the city were blocked off after the crash, and he is being prepared for transport to Moscow for medical treatment.
The opposition Chechen Telegram channel Niyso, citing its own sources, reported that the accident involved high-ranking members of the republic’s leadership and that the person in question is Adam
“Grozny is blocked off, the new republican hospital is closed. All for one person who is in serious condition. He is being resuscitated and prepared for transport to Moscow,” the message said.
According to the channel, the motorcade was traveling at high speed when it suddenly hit an obstacle. Vehicles collided, causing chaos on the road. Several people were injured, but attention is focused on Adam, who is in serious condition.
The channel also reported that MMA fighter Khamzat Chimaev was in the car. Preliminary reports said he suffered serious injuries, and some sources even claimed he had died. However, according to Niyso, that information was not confirmed. The channel added it had learned that among the injured there was allegedly another son of a high-ranking representative of the occupation authorities.
The outlet ASTRA notes that the Russian service Yandex.Probki is not currently showing closures or major traffic jams on Grozny’s streets. Ramzan Kadyrov and other official sources have not yet confirmed the reports of the crash.
Earlier, it was reported that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov suffered kidney failure and is being treated at his own hospital in Chechnya. Due to his illness, the Kremlin has begun looking for potential candidates to replace him.
