Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has announced the launch of Mission Control, a digital system designed to unify all drone operations and give commanders a real-time picture of combat missions.
Ukraine is consolidating all drone operations into a single digital platform under the Mission Control project.
According to the minister, existing digital tools already let Ukraine see what is happening with drones on the battlefield, track completed tasks, measure tempo, and assess each crew’s contribution. But he said that wasn’t enough to strike the enemy more effectively.
“That’s why we’re launching Mission Control - a drone command system within the DELTA combat ecosystem. I’ve already signed the order,” Fedorov said.
He called it a revolutionary project that changes the very approach to managing combat operations.
Fedorov explained that each crew will now enter into the system the type of UAV, launch point, route and task. “We’re getting rid of the paper army that steals time and attention from our troops,” he said.
For the first time, he added, commanders will get a complete real-time picture of missions without bureaucracy - enabling faster decisions and a clear view of each unit’s contribution.
The next step, he noted, is launching a similar control system for artillery. He also said the platform will soon provide comprehensive information on drone crews, commanders, monthly rankings, and corps-wide statistics.
Such data, Fedorov stressed, will speed up decision-making and eliminate manual processes and gut-based assessments. Ukraine, he said, is moving from chaos and fragmented data to a managed, technology-driven war where decisions are based on precise figures.
“This is the new logic of war: fight systematically, technologically and efficiently — while saving the lives of our soldiers,” Fedorov concluded.
