German Defense Minister warns Ukraine will be 'dead tomorrow' without Western support

Kyiv vitally needs Western support, because without it Ukraine “will be dead tomorrow.” The West must continue backing Ukraine even though it is costly.

Ending support would be far more expensive for Europe than maintaining it, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in an interview with Kameramann Bayern.

According to him, stopping support for Ukraine would have dire consequences.

“First, Ukraine will be dead tomorrow, and second, it will cost us significantly more than support now. And that’s why it’s so important that we, as Germany, make it clear in NATO that we support Ukraine, even if it costs a lot of money,” Pistorius said.

He stressed that Germany is Europe’s largest economy and the third largest in the world, so Germans must live up to that role.

Pistorius noted that there is a military threat in Europe, as a full-scale war is ongoing nearby in Ukraine.

Germany’s defense minister also said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “has always made it clear that he is concerned not only with Ukraine,” so Germans must be ready for defense and “must procure materials and weapons.”

Earlier, Boris Pistorius warned that Russia could deploy nuclear weapons in space.
