Ukraine stands with the Iranian people ready to fight for their freedom and is therefore recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, Zelensky said in his nightly video address.
All terrorists deserve equal treatment and condemnation, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
“The whole world sees what is happening in Iran, how many killings there are, and how the Iranian regime has invested in spreading war and violence in the region and the world. Ukraine will not forget any of the thousands of Shahed drones hitting our cities and towns, our people,” the president said, referring to Iranian-made Shahed drones.
He added that formal European procedures to codify the IRGC’s terrorist designation are ongoing: Ukraine has already taken that step.
“A European Union decision to recognize one of the main organizations of the regime in Iran — the so-called Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — as terrorist has been essentially agreed. We in Ukraine have already made such a decision; for us this issue is closed,” he added.
Zelensky noted that all terrorists worldwide deserve equal treatment and condemnation — none of them should prevail.
Earlier, Zelensky called on the world to overthrow Iran’s ruling regime.
