Ukraine’s Defense Forces are concentrating efforts on the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad to hold back further Russian advances amid ongoing heavy fighting, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces said.
“The operational situation in Myrnohrad has significantly worsened over the past week. The Defense Forces are focusing their main efforts on containing the enemy’s further advance on the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad, where active combat operations continue,” the statement said.
According to the corps, Russian forces are bringing heavy equipment, including artillery, into the city center as part of their plan to occupy Myrnohrad. Activity by Russian assault groups is also being recorded on the eastern outskirts of the city.
At the same time, pressure north of the city is significantly limiting the use of unmanned aerial systems inside Myrnohrad, narrowing Ukraine’s options for striking the enemy.
“In the face of a worsening situation, the 79th Separate Air Assault Tavria Brigade of the 7th Corps carried out search-and-strike operations north of Myrnohrad to detect and eliminate enemy groups, preventing Russian forces from getting into the rear of our positions,” the Air Assault Forces added.
Over the past day, 152 combat engagements were recorded along the front, with the Hulyaipole and Pokrovsk sectors remaining the most intense, Ukraine’s General Staff said.
Ukraine’s military also said it eliminated 770 Russian troops in the past 24 hours and estimates Russia has lost 1,244,560 personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion.
