At least four people were killed and about 30 others were injured in the past 24 hours as Russian attacks hit the Donetsk, Kherson, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions and other parts of the country, regional military administrators said Monday, February 9.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 11 ballistic missiles and 149 attack drones overnight into February 9.
Missile and 23 drone impacts were recorded at 15 locations, the military said.
In Bohodukhiv, in the Kharkiv region, a woman and a 10-year-old child were killed in drone strikes, and three other people were wounded.
Drones hit the city’s private residential sector, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
In the settlement of Shakhtarske in the Dnipropetrovsk region, nine people were injured, including a 13-year-old girl, said regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha.
One of the injured, a 57-year-old woman, is in serious condition, he said.
Overnight, Russian forces also struck Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region. A 71-year-old man was killed and four others were wounded and hospitalized, said regional chief Viacheslav Chaus.
He added that homes and power lines were damaged across Chernihiv region, and a residential building and an unused school caught fire after a drone strike.
Another mass drone attack hit Odesa and the wider Odesa region. One person was killed and two others were injured in the city, according to regional chief Oleh Kiper.
A drone also struck the roof of a multi-story apartment building and damaged a gas pipe. Several cars caught fire, and the facades and windows of several buildings were damaged.
A Russian strike damaged an energy facility in Novovolynsk in the Volyn region, Mayor Borys Karpus said.
As of early February 9, water treatment facilities and some boiler houses were operating on generators, he added.
