Ukraine’s Forces have logged notable gains in the Zaporizhzhia region, with several villages reportedly liberated.
Kyiv’s troops are conducting counteroffensive actions along the Zaporizhzhia axis, and there are already “certain successes”, said Dmitry “Perun” Filatov, commander of the 1st Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo, on Army TV.
According to Filatov, Russian occupation forces are now trying to hold their positions in Zaporizhzhia. He said Russian advances there have been halted.
“There are certain successes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces that, unfortunately, I can’t detail because the operation is ongoing. But if you follow enemy Telegram channels, the information they’re sharing is accurate,” Filatov said.
In recent days, several pro-war “Z” channels have circulated alarmed claims about a major Ukrainian counteroffensive near Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Propagandist Yuriy Podolyaka alleged that large Ukrainian formations were committed to the fight and were trying to exploit Russia’s loss of quality communications, including Starlink.
Reports have also pointed to some key gains by Ukraine’s Defense Forces on this stretch of the front, with Russian troops pushed out of Ternove and Prydorizhne. On February 10, Lukianivske was reported cleared of Russian forces.
Ukraine is clearly conducting counteroffensive actions. However, based on the latest information, these appear to be localized operations to improve tactical positions rather than a large-scale offensive.
