Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled the first Ukrainian-German facility producing drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zelensky released footage of the inaugural joint venture, which manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles for Ukraine’s military. The video was published February 13 on the President’s official Facebook account.
“The drone-making technology is Ukrainian; they are equipped with artificial intelligence and have already proven effective on the front line,” the statement reads.
“Quantum Frontline Industries has become the first serial production site for Ukrainian unmanned systems in Europe. It is being implemented within German-Ukrainian government cooperation on the initiative of Build with Ukraine and financed by Germany’s special task force,” the presidential office added.
The President personally toured the site, reviewed the assembly line and accepted the first strike drone produced under the new partnership.
“We saw the production line and the first flight of the drone. This is modern Ukrainian technology, battle-tested, equipped with artificial intelligence. It will conduct strikes, carry out reconnaissance and protect our troops,” Zelensky said.
According to Zelensky, the facility will deliver 10,000 drones to Ukraine’s Defense Forces in 2026.
Officials said the launch follows a sustained push by Kyiv to establish production lines across Europe. Zelensky stressed the new site in Germany is the first, but not the last, in a broader cooperation program.
“By the end of the year, we will open 10 joint enterprises to produce Ukrainian drones,” he said.
Zelensky separately thanked German leaders for backing defense cooperation, citing Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, as well as the German government and people.
The joint production effort is part of Ukraine’s long-term strategy to expand its own defense industrial base with support from Western allies.
