The defense of Myrnohrad is nearing its end as Russian troops engulf the city, while launch points for Russian drones are being detected in the southern part of Pokrovsk, according to analysts from the DeepState project.
Russian forces are also moving infantry into Pokrovsk, the analysts said. “At the same time, the enemy is trying to push into Hryshyne from the northwestern outskirts of Pokrovsk. Buildups are already being recorded on the village’s western edge, and firefights are underway,” DeepState reported. The group added that in addition to attempts to infiltrate Hryshyne from the Pokrovsk side, Russian troops are also trying from the direction of Kotlyne, but there they are being blocked and destroyed.
Analysts said Russian forces have occupied the settlement of Rovno and have almost completely seized the neighboring village of Svetloye.
Consolidation in this area, they said, gives Russian troops the ability to mass for a deeper push through the narrow corridor between Pokrovsk and Rodynske, increasing the risk to the remaining elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces around Myrnohrad.
“Myrnohrad itself is being swallowed by the enemy. The story of its defense is coming to an end,” DeepState said.
The analysts later updated their battle map, noting further Russian gains in Myrnohrad.
On January 29, Ukrainska Pravda reported that Russian troops had already deployed headquarters and artillery in Myrnohrad.
