Adam Kadyrov, the son of the head of Chechnya, has not yet recovered from injuries sustained in a traffic accident and is reportedly concealing facial scars with makeup.
A recent birthday celebration in Grozny for one of the Chechen leader’s daughters, Khadizhat Kadyrova, was attended by her brother Adam, who was injured in the crash. His condition did not appear to be optimal.
The information was reported by VChK-OGPU, an influential Russian outlet believed to be associated with Russia’s security services for leaks.
Adam Kadyrov was involved in a crash a month ago, on January 16. On that day, members of the local “golden youth” allegedly staged street races in central Grozny, resulting in a major pileup. The Chechen leader’s son, who, according to reports, provoked the crash, was urgently flown by special aircraft to Moscow for treatment.
Now, according to the outlet, Adam Kadyrov has returned to Grozny and even attended his sister’s birthday. However, his condition remains far from ideal.
Witnesses described Adam Kadyrov as noticeably thinner and moving with difficulty, with makeup applied to his face. In addition to a spleen injury, he suffered a broken jaw that required multiple procedures.
The birthday celebration reportedly featured songs and dancing, but there was a palpable sense of tension within the family. Unprecedented security measures were in place.
Guests faced enhanced screening and a total ban on phones. Even guests well known to the Kadyrov family were not allowed to hand gifts directly to the birthday girl. Designated staff inside the house collected the presents and passed them to security.
Such measures suggest the Kadyrov family fears a possible assassination attempt. One theory circulating is that the crash involving Adam, the Chechen leader’s younger son, may be tied to a succession struggle.
