A Ukrainian court has ordered the government to take over An-140 aircraft spare parts worth about $1.5 million linked to JSC Aviakor, a Russian defense aerospace manufacturer, according to the Ministry of Justice.
The High Anti-Corruption Court granted the Justice Ministry’s lawsuit and transferred Aviakor’s property to state ownership, the ministry said on February 19. The decision was made on February 18.
The ministry described Aviakor as one of Russia’s largest aircraft manufacturers, engaged in aircraft production, overhaul and maintenance for military and civilian aviation, as well as component manufacturing. It said the company is part of Russia’s defense-industrial sector and provides material and technical support for military operations against Ukraine by modernizing, repairing and servicing military aircraft.
Separately, a panel of the High Anti-Corruption Court also granted another Justice Ministry claim involving the Rostov helicopter manufacturer PJSC Rostvertol, part of the Russian Helicopters holding, with sanctions imposed in that case as well
Those sanctions include confiscating Rostvertol assets located in Ukraine in favor of the state: 21 sets of helicopter spare parts under a 2011 contract between Rostvertol and the Ukrainian state enterprise Lviv State Plant Lorta.
