Ukrainian military debunks Russian claim of destroying nonexistent HIMARS and Flamingo launchers

A claim by Russian forces that they allegedly destroyed HIMARS transporter-loader vehicles and launchers for Flamingo rockets is not true, Ukraine’s Joint Forces grouping said.

“The Joint Forces grouping regrets to note that after the latest Russian attack there are no HIMARS transporter-loader vehicles or Flamingo rocket launchers left in Ukraine. But they didn’t exist before the attack either: HIMARS does not have transporter-loader vehicles, and FP-5 Flamingo launches are carried out from simple rails,” the statement said.

The command added: “We cite this ‘news’ solely to give our readers a sense of what the Russian Armed Forces’ reports are worth: ‘MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian servicemen in a day destroyed a U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS transporter-loader vehicle and struck Flamingo rocket launchers.’”

“Only Russian propaganda is capable of ‘destroying’ what doesn’t exist,” the Joint Forces concluded.

On February 21, Ukraine struck the Votkinsk Plant in Udmurtia, which produces intercontinental ballistic missiles. Other key facilities were also hit.
