Overnight into Sunday, Russian forces launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 117 attack drones of various types at Ukraine. Most incoming targets were destroyed or suppressed by air defenses and electronic warfare units, the Ukrainian Air Force said Sunday, March 8.
Missiles were fired from Russia’s Rostov and Voronezh regions. Drones approached from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo in Russia, and from Gvardeyskoye in Russian-occupied Crimea. About 70 of the drones were Shahed drones.
The air attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
Preliminary as of 09:00, air defenses shot down or suppressed 98 enemy UAVs — including Shahed, Herbera, and other types — over northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
At the same time, there were confirmed impacts from two ballistic missiles and 19 attack UAVs at 11 locations.
Earlier Sunday morning, officials said Shahed drones damaged transport infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih. No casualties were reported.
