Zelensky: Russia transferring drone tech to Iran for war against the U.S. and Israel

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia is assisting Iran in its war against the United States and Israel, transferring parts of its technology to support the regime in Tehran.

One of the main elements of that assistance is the transfer of parts and know-how related to the use and deployment of drones, Zelensky said at a joint news conference with new Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

According to the president, Ukrainian intelligence has recorded the transfer of the specified set of resources and technologies. He added that Iran is not currently supplying Russia with missiles or other weapons for strikes on Ukraine.

Zelensky said Kyiv is ready to help partners in the Middle East counter Iranian Shahed drones and will send specialists if necessary. He said the first group of Ukrainian military personnel and experts will head to Gulf countries on Monday to train them to combat drones.

“It’s too early to talk about other details; that will likely come next week. The experts will arrive on the ground immediately with capabilities to help [counter the drone threat],” Zelensky added.

He said several specialist teams have been formed and that there are interested states among the Gulf countries. Ukraine is ready to sell its interceptor drones to partners, and three countries have already expressed interest in purchasing them.

Earlier, Kyiv offered Gulf countries Ukrainian interceptor drones. The president said he considers exchanging drones for PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems to be fair and mutually beneficial.

Subsequently, it was reported Zelensky agreed to send troops to the Middle East to shoot down Shahed drones. Ukraine will dispatch its specialists in the coming days, at the request of the Trump administration.
